Electric Cherry Picker Hire
Over recent years, the popularity of electric cherry pickers has increased and manufacturers have responded with ever more powerful machines, enabling operators to work higher and longer on one battery charge.
What’s driving the demand for electric cherry pickers? Work sites are becoming greener and low emission zones more commonplace so contractors need machines that can accommodate these locations without compromising on productivity.
Electric powered cherry pickers share many of the capabilities of their counterpart diesel cherry pickers but with the added advantages of reduced noise and zero emissions. This makes them ideal for working indoors as well as outdoors and in sensitive environments – residential and city centres – where disturbance to those in the surrounding areas need to be kept to a minimum.
Bi-energy: Offering the best of both world’s, bi-energy cherry pickers give the option of using quiet, emission-free battery power for indoor applications and a powerful diesel motor, suited to external applications and for travelling across sites.

Spider Cherry Picker Hire
As work sites become ever more demanding, the need for cherry pickers that can cope with challenging terrains increases.
Spider cherry pickers, propelled by tracks, provide exceptional agility on uneven surfaces and landscaped areas where access is restricted.
The term “spider” refers to the outrigger configuration, which looks like spider legs. These enables the load of the machine to be spread evenly across the floor, something that is particularly useful for floors with load point restrictions.
Spider lifts provide high reach capability whilst retaining narrow travel width. This makes them ideal for use where access is limited such as in retail and leisure environments and historic buildings.
At JMS, you’ll find a range of spider cherry pickers with working heights of 14m to 52m from manufacturers such as Hinowa, JLG, Teupen and Falcon.
For all spider lift hire enquiries, call 0345 457 0000 or email hire@jms.co.uk

Diesel cherry picker hire
Diesel powered cherry pickers are the most powerful self propelled cherry pickers available for hire.
Usually hired for external jobs, they can reach huge heights of up to 58.57m and can be operated all day long without the need for refueling.
While diesel power has its advantages, it’s not the most environmentally friendly option which is why many modern diesel cherry pickers have Stage V diesel engines. Stage V engines reduce the number of diesel particles emitted with the exhaust gases making them kinder to the environment.
At JMS you’ll find a range of diesel cherry pickers – articulated, telescopic and spider lifts.
Hire from leading diesel cherry picker manufacturers such as Hinowa, Manitou, Genie, Haulotte, JLG, Skyjack and Nagano. The latter being the latest addition to the JMS fleet with articulated and telescopic crawler booms.

Mast Cherry Picker Hire
Mast lifts are a versatile type of cherry picker and are often considered part of low level access machine categories.
They are powered access platforms which move up and down a vertical mast and have an articulated jib which provides outreach up and over obstacles.
Mast lifts may not have the same height capabilities or working envelopes as other larger cherry pickers however their compact size makes them extremely versatile for use in a variety of settings.
They have a compact chassis making them highly manoeuvrable and ideal for operation in restricted locations such as offices, retail spaces (down aisles/corridors), hotels, warehouses, public buildings and industrial work sites. Their non-marking tyres protect floor finishes too. Other traditional cherry pickers and scissor lifts would be unsuitable for these locations due to their size and weight.
The JMS range of mast cherry pickers are all battery operated, making them quieter than diesel machines and the absence of emissions means less disruption is caused when in operation.

Secondary Guarding
JMS has always had a policy of purchasing platforms for its access hire fleet with the very best and latest in safety specification.
Every cherry picker purchased in recent years has been fitted with Secondary Guarding as standard. These devices, when activated, help to protect cherry picker operators from injury.
An example of secondary guarding is the JLG Skyguard:
Enhanced Control Panel Protection
Skyguard technology, standard on all JLG cherry pickers, has been developed to stop all functions in use at the time when activated.
If the operator comes into contact with the sensor system (the yellow bar shown opposite), the horn sounds and the auto reverse features activates, temporarily reversing the platform to save the operator from being crushed between the platform and obstruction.
The Skyguard technology can be activated from a variety of angles and provides protection without reducing or impeding the work envelope of the cherry picker.
For more information on secondary guarding for cherry pickers, call 0345 457 0000 or email hire@jms.co.uk.
