We’re looking for a friendly, organised Hire Desk Controller to join our Leeds team to handle enquiries and coordinate hires across logistics, engineering and sales. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers calling or emailing to request plant and powered access equipment, and you’ll ensure hires are booked, scheduled, and handed over smoothly by liaising with drivers, engineers and the commercial team.
Key responsibilities
- Answer incoming enquiries (phone and email) and manage bookings professionally.
- Allocate and schedule hires with logistics, drivers and engineers to meet customer requirements.
- Keep hire records up to date in our system, processing any appropriate paperwork
- Provide product and pricing information and escalate technical queries to engineering or sales.
- Monitor fleet availability and support timely machine prep and maintenance coordination.
- Support a positive customer experience by following up on deliveries, returns and any issues.
About you
- Strong communicator with excellent telephone manner and attention to detail.
- Organised, able to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy hire office.
- Experience in equipment hire, transport, logistics or customer service is welcomed but not essential.
- Comfortable using IT systems and databases; experience with hire management software is a plus.
