Help JMS marathon man raise funds for NSPCC

London Marathon 2019

JMS Director Justin Lynn is taking part in the 2019 Virgin London Marathon on 29 April to raise funds for the NSPCC.

This is the third time Justin has taken on the iconic 26.2 mile challenge.  He has been working towards the event over the winter months by following a precise training plan, running up to 40 miles per week.

Justin says: “Training when the weather is cold the nights are dark is difficult. But a serious training plan was essential to make sure I complete the distance.

“The London Marathon is such an amazing event to be part of.”

Justin’s current personal best is 4 hours 15 minutes. This year he is hoping to go under that time, aiming for 4 hours 10 minutes.

He says: “The best thing about the London Marathon is the support from the crowd, the famous route through the city the ability to raise sponsorship money for good causes.

“The worst part, also the best part, is completing the last mile 385 yards.”

Justin is collecting donations through his Virgin Money Giving Page. He is hoping to raise £2,500 for the NSPCC.

“As a parent, I want every child to be safe,” he says. “The NSPCC does excellent work for vulnerable children I’m proud to be supporting the charity.”

Justin is grateful for the support he has received from friends work colleagues, “They’ve all been very supportive.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far.”

More than 40,000 runners are expected to complete the marathon on Sunday 28 April. The day will begin with the Elite Wheelchair races, followed by the World Para Athletics Marathon Championships for ambulant athletes, then the Elite Women’s race.

The 2018 Elite Men’s race was won by marathon World Record holder, Eliud Kipchoge, in a time of 2:04:17. He will be competing again this year.

Last year, 34 new Guinness World Records titles were set, ranging from the fastest runner dressed as a whoopee cushion, to the fastest marathon on stilts.
