JMS Enhances Access Platform Hire with the New Hinowa LL 40.18 Spider Boom Lift
JMS reaches new heights with biggest ever Hinowa spider boom
In a bold move to elevate rental opportunities, JMS has added the groundbreaking Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 Performance IIIS to its extensive fleet.
The significant investment reaffirms JMS’s position as a leading provider of tracked spider lifts in the UK, as it makes Hinowa’s latest and now largest tracked boom available to customers.

Pioneering Access Technology with the Hinowa LL 40.18 Hybrid Spider Boom Lift
JMS Managing Director Mark Jackson expressed his enthusiasm for the Hinowa LL 40.18, which has a maximum working height of 40.2m and a maximum outreach of 17.5m.
He said: “Customers who hire our new Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 will benefit from one of the standout features of the Hinowa Lightlift Performance IIIS range, which is the excellent operating system shared across the entire range.
“It makes it easy for customers who are familiar with Hinowa spider lifts with lower working heights to easily trade up to the new Lightlift 40.18. With the LL 40.18 in our fleet, our customers can tackle projects at new heights.”
Leading the Way on National Access Platform Hire
JMS, a full-service national access platform hire specialist, offers a full range fleet to meet various needs, including the latest low level access, scissor lifts, aerial boom lifts, and spider boom lifts.
The addition of the Hinowa LL 40.18 spider boom lift further enhances its offering, particularly with its bi-energy and all-electric platform options, reflecting JMS’s commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.
Linda Betts, Key Accounts Director at Access Platform Sales, the UK and Ireland distributor for Hinowa, praised Mark Jackson and his team for their forward-thinking approach.
She said: “JMS has always been a trendsetter in the spider lift hire market. The addition of the Hinowa LL 40.18 spider boom lift is a testament to their vision and leadership.
“This platform is literally taking JMS’s market reach to new heights, offering rental customers familiar with other Hinowa models a seamless transition to a more advanced solution.”

Unmatched Performance and Versatility
The Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 spider boom delivers superior performance that sets it apart in its class.
Mark Jackson said: “Many platforms offer decent outreach but basket capacity restrictions can limit their practicality for some jobs.
“However, the Hinowa LL 40.18 has an unrestricted 230kg basket capacity across its entire working envelope, including a negative reach of 4m for working below the level of the platform. This creates a vast and versatile working envelope.”
The Hinowa LL 40.18 spider cherry picker actually has a maximum basket capacity of 300kg up to its full working height and a maximum outreach of 16.5m.
This is complemented by a 2,000mm by 700mm basket, which is larger than other spider lifts in the Hinowa range, giving more space for multiple operatives or for the carrying of extra tools.
Flexible Power for Diverse Environments
Another key feature of JMS’s new Hinowa LL 40.18 spider lift is its bi-energy drive and lifting system.
The platform can be powered with a low-emission Kubota diesel engine or using its lithium-ion batteries.
This dual power source, combined with non-marking tracks, makes JMS’s Hinowa LL 40.18 ideal for both indoor and outdoor operations.
It also enabled the platform to be used in environments where zero-emissions and low-noise working is needed, for example near schools, care homes and hospitals, and contributes to a client’s low carbon footprint and NetZero by 2050 strategies.
It also extends the spider lift’s productivity, allowing operatives to work at height earlier in the morning, into the evening and at night – times when diesel-powered platforms are likely to trigger complaints.
Compact yet still mighty, the Hinowa 40.18 is designed for versatility, with a stowed width of just 1,200mm, height of 1,990mm, and length of 6,820mm.
It also has narrow stabilisation capability, allowing it to be set up in especially restricted spaces, with a maximum working height of 35m, an outreach of just under 11m, and a basket capacity of 230kg.
Empowering Safe and Efficient high level working
Mark Jackson said: “The Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 is poised to be a favourite among our diverse clientele, from building surveyors to roofers, structure cleaners and tree specialists.
“It opens up new possibilities, allowing jobs to be completed faster, safer, and with less effort than ever before. I think it’s a game changer. We’re thrilled to be able to offer it to our customers.”
With the Hinowa LL 40.18 tracked spider boom now available for hire, JMS confirms its position as an industry leader in specialist working at height solutions.
The company offers an extensive range of spider lifts with working heights from 12.2m to 50m , alongside a wide selection of articulating boom lifts, telescopic boom lifts, scissor lifts, and low-level platforms.
