Outrigger Pads
When hiring a tracked boom lift with outriggers, you may wish to also hire outrigger pads or spreader pads as they are sometimes called.
The area of the foot attached to the outrigger of a MEWP is relatively small and consequently generates higher pressures on the ground. If the MEWP is being operated on soil, unmade ground or paved/asphalt-covered areas, this can cause damage and create unstable conditions for the MEWP to be safely operated.
Outrigger pads help to spread the load of the MEWP evenly across the whole area of the spreader plate, minimising the risk of ground damage and ensuring the MEWP remains stable for safe operation.

Track Mats
Track mats or ground protection mats are used to protect ground conditions when using MEWP’s such as boom lifts. They work by dispersing the weight of the vehicle that’s crossing over them.
The track mats have a traction cylinder built into the underside of the mat which grips the surface it’s on, whether soil, grass or synthetic turf. These small cylinders prevent sliding and provide stability to the track mat.
If the MEWP is to be used on landscaped areas or turf, track mats are a great way to ensure damage is limited to these ground conditions.
Track mats are easy to move, transport and stack with the convenient hand holes.
They have a weight bearing limit of up to 30 tonnes (based on the ground mats lying on a level, relatively hard surface. The weight bearing limit reduces if the mats are used on uneven or boggy ground.

Harness & Lanyard
Make sure you’re wearing the right PPE.
Safety harnesses and lanyards are usually essential safety equipment when using boom type (cherry picker) lifts.
We can supply the appropriate form of safety harness and lanyard for the equipment and location you will be operating in.
All of our products adhere to fall protection standards. We can also advise and supply other forms of PPE required.

If you don’t have the correct IPAF certification to operator a scissor lift or boom lift – don’t worry – we can help.
JMS can provide a fully accredited operator to get you working at height safely. This will enable you to concentrate on the job you need to undertake as the access equipment and operation are all taken care of.
