Gen2 Hybrid – Second-Generation Parallel Hybrid Technology
The HR28 is substantially lighter and more compact than its competitors and with a smaller tail swing. This, coupled with its excellent manoeuvrability, means it can work in more locations than its larger rivals and be transported more economically.
Proportional controls deliver smooth, measured operation while 180º cage rotation and a 150º fly-boom allow precise positioning anywhere in its vast working envelope.
The HR28 4×4 is available with two power options, battery-only or Hybrid power:
Developed specifically for applications or environments where a Diesel engine may not be permitted, the battery-only option offers efficient, quiet, zero-emission operation.
The hybrid option incorporates Niftylift’s revolutionary second-generation Hybrid power system. It uses a smaller, power-optimised EU Stage V-compliant Diesel engine, supported by the machine’s electric motor when extra power is needed.
This maintains power and performance while reducing fuel consumption for maximum efficiency. The innovative ‘Diesel Re-Gen’ feature also recharges the batteries, giving a ‘fast charge’ whenever the machine is idle, and the engine is running. In addition, an electric-only mode allows zero-emission operation, making it ideal for indoor use or quiet, clean operation.

EU Stage V Diesel with Electric Boost
The Gen2 Hybrid system is powered by an EU Stage V Diesel engine, which is automatically boosted by an electric motor when extra power is needed. This combination enables the niftylift booms to utilise smaller engines than would otherwise be required, while still maintaining power and performance.
