Customers are discovering the benefits of JMS‘s latest tracked spider lift as they put the new Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 Performance IIIS to the test on demanding projects.
The spider boom lift, with a maximum working height of 40.2m and a maximum outreach of 17.5m, is quickly becoming a favourite among JMS’s platform rental clients.
The LL40.18 is now the largest in JMS’s range, one of ten models available for hire.
The LL40.18 in Action
Out and About: Birmingham
The Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 was crucial on a significant project at Stainforth House, Birmingham, for an external wall intrusive cladding survey aimed at assessing fire risk for student accommodation.
The project involved inspections of various heights and areas of different materials on the property. Due to a height restriction of 2.1 metres in the access area, the lightweight nature of the 40m Hinowa LL40.18 allowed for safe setup and operation.
Its up-and-over clearance height of 21 metres and 17.5 metre horizontal outreach enabled precise and safe completion of cladding inspections.
Out and About: Farnborough Air Show
At the prestigious Farnborough Air Show, the LL40.18 demonstrated its utility as a large articulated spider boom lift. Its reliability and advanced technology made it indispensable for various tasks.

Out and About: Dagenham Development
The Hinowa Lightlift 40.18 was put to work at a development in Dagenham, Essex, where 63 new homes were recently completed in August 2024.
The project involved snagging works maintenance, including masticing of windows and repointing of brickwork. The ground conditions presented a challenge with a sloped gradient on earth and gravel paths.
However, the LL40.18’s self-levelling capabilities, 40.2m working height, and 17.5m horizontal outreach made it an ideal choice for this environment, proving its adaptability on complex terrains.
Key Uses for the LL40.18:
