Live events rarely leave much room for delay. Build schedules are tight, site access can be awkward, and different teams often need to work around each other to get everything ready on time. Whether it is a stadium concert, an outdoor festival or a community event, having the right powered access platforms on site can make a real difference to how smoothly the event runs.
JMS Powered Access supports events and festivals across the UK with access platforms, practical advice and a team that understands the pace and pressure of live event work. From stage builds and lighting installs to signage, media infrastructure and de-rig, the focus is always on helping crews work safely and efficiently at height.
Supporting Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium
The JMS team recently supported preparations for Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, one of the UK’s biggest live music events.
Projects of that scale involve a huge amount of work to be completed to a tight schedule. JMS Powered Access supplied large boom lifts, including the 44.06m Dingli BA44RT, to help crews carry out key work at height during the stage build, venue dressing and de-rig of this major live event.
On an event like this, it is not just about getting the platform spec right. Equipment needs to arrive when expected, perform reliably on site and fit into a much wider production schedule. JMS experienced mobile engineers remained on call to support if there were any issues, and made sure work at height could continue without unnecessary hold-ups.
Silverworks Festival at Royal Victoria Dock
JMS Powered Access have also previously supported Silverworks Festival at Royal Victoria Dock, London, a large open-air event space hosting several days of performances.
A JLG 860SJ telescopic boom lift was used across the nine-day event to help with stage infrastructure and lighting works. With a large waterside site, changing weather and long operating days, it was the kind of job where both reach and reliability mattered.
The platform gave crews the height and outreach they needed to work productively across the site, while also helping them carry out tasks safely and efficiently throughout the event.

Powered access for events across the UK
No two events are exactly the same, but the challenges are often familiar. Site delivery times, changing schedules, restricted site routes, pressure on build time and multiple contractors all need to be worked around. That is why the JMS team’s support goes beyond simply supplying a platform.
The hire desk, engineers and operators understand the practical demands of event sites and can help production companies, stage & lighting crews and event organisers choose the right equipment for staging, lighting, sound, media, signage, temporary structures and other work at height. Delivery and collection are handled by JMS’s own transport fleet, which helps when deliveries and collections need to be planned around site safety briefings, road closures or tight production schedules. Pre-event site visits and consultations can also help identify the most suitable platforms before work starts.
JMS modern powered access fleet allows them to supply a wide range of powered access platforms for different parts of an event site. High reach boom lifts are often used for stage construction, lighting rigs, screens and roof work. Scissor lifts can support front-of-house structures, signage and other installation tasks, while low-level access platforms and mast lifts can be useful for indoor spaces, hospitality areas and back-of-house environments where access is tighter.
JMS access platform range also includes electric and low-emission platforms for indoor venues and lower-noise locations, as well as rough-terrain boom lifts or scissor lifts for outdoor festivals and more challenging ground conditions.
All platforms are supplied fully inspected and with current LOLER and Thorough Examination certification, with practical guidance available on matters such as ground conditions, load spreading and overhead obstacles.
Whether the requirement is for a major concert, a multi-day festival, a televised event or a charity run, JMS Powered Access provides the platforms, expertise and logistical support needed to help event teams work safely at height and keep things moving.
