In a recent project in Southampton, the Jibbi 1890 Evo proved its worth on a site where traditional access equipment would have struggled. The versatility of the tracked boom enabled operators to concentrate on their tas.
Steep and Uneven Ground: The site’s sloping terrain and limited space meant that a standard boom lift or scissor lift simply wouldn’t do. The Jibbi’s unique self-levelling tracks and ability to drive at height—even on inclines up to 15°—made it the perfect solution.
Precision Placement: Working at height often requires not just reach, but also stability and fine control. The Jibbi’s smooth proportional controls and robust 250kg platform capacity allowed the team to manoeuvre into place safely and efficiently, even with two operators and their tools on the platform.
Continuous Access Along the Building: Thanks to the Jibbi’s ability to move while elevated, the installation crew could reposition themselves along the façade without the need to lower the basket each time. This saved valuable time and increased productivity, especially important on a project with tight deadlines.
Safety is always a top priority on JMS sites. The Jibbi 1890 Evo’s advanced anti-entrapment system and optional ultrasonic anti-collision sensors provided extra reassurance for operators working close to the building envelope and other site obstacles. The automatic track tensioning and levelling systems kept the machine stable and secure, even as ground conditions changed throughout the day.
