JMS Powered Access was delighted to once again support Uniformed Services Day in Bexley, providing JMS Powered Access trucks for the 2026 Truck Pull and helping the event raise valuable funds for six fantastic charities and organisations.
Held in Bexleyheath on 25 July, the event brought together uniformed services, businesses, volunteers, families and teams from across the community for a day celebrating the people who serve and protect us.
A highlight of the day was the Truck Pull, where teams put their strength and teamwork to the test by pulling trucks through the town centre, including vehicles provided by JMS Powered Access.
A Bexley Tradition That Keeps Growing
Uniformed Services Day has become a popular fixture in the Bexley calendar, bringing the community together to recognise the work of the emergency services, Armed Forces and other uniformed organisations.
The Truck Pull has become one of the highlights. Teams made up of emergency service personnel, members of the Armed Forces, businesses and supporters take on the challenge of hauling heavy trucks from Welling towards Bexleyheath Broadway, raising money for charity as they go.
In 2025, the participating teams pulled a 13-tonne truck for two miles and collectively raised an impressive £20,000 for charity.
JMS also supported last year’s event, providing trucks and powered access equipment to help make the day possible.

For 2026, the event returned bigger again, with thousands of people coming into Bexleyheath to support the teams, meet representatives from the uniformed services and enjoy demonstrations and family activities throughout the day.
Billy Moultrie, HGV Driver represented JMS Powered Access on the day, supporting the event and helping with the JMS trucks taking part in the challenge.
Reflecting on the event, Billy said:
“Uniformed Services Day is a brilliant opportunity to show our appreciation for the people who serve our communities while raising money for six very worthwhile charities. It was great to see so many people come together, get involved and support the Truck Pull. We were really pleased that JMS could play a part in making the day happen.”
Raising Funds for Six Great Causes
While the Truck Pull provided plenty of competitive spirit and entertainment, the main purpose of the day was fundraising.
Uniformed Services Day 2026 supported six charities doing important work for individuals, families and uniformed service communities:
Each organisation provides vital support, from helping disabled children and their families and funding breast cancer research to supporting ambulance staff, firefighters, serving and veteran members of the REME family, and the families of police officers and staff who have died on duty.

Uniformed Services Day 2026 has raised £4,241 so far, with the aim to raise over £5,000.
